Your name stays on the door
Same sign, same staff, same customers. The brand and reputation you built in your community stay right where they are.
Tideover Financial partners with owners of family-run pawn and specialty retail businesses. When you're ready to think about what's next, we're a straight-shooting buyer who will take care of your name, your people, and your customers.
Every conversation stays private. No obligation, no pressure. You'll hear back within one business day.
What a partnership looks like
Most owners have heard the stories. The buyer who cut the staff, marked down the inventory, and changed the sign inside a year. That's not how we work. Here's what actually happens when you sell to us.
Same sign, same staff, same customers. The brand and reputation you built in your community stay right where they are.
The team that helped you build the business keeps their jobs, and gets more resources behind them, from better tools to room to grow.
Stay on and run the store, help with a transition, or step away on your timeline. There's no one right answer, and we'll build the plan around yours.
Sound familiar?
If any of that sounds like you, you're exactly who we want to talk to. Plenty of owners reach out a year or two before they're ready, just to understand their options. Start the conversation whenever it suits you.
Why owners talk to us
We tell you what we can do and what we can't. The number we discuss early is the number we close on. And if we're not the right buyer for you, we'll say so.
Capital, hiring help, marketing, and back-office support, so the business gets stronger after the sale, not thinner.
We buy businesses to own and grow them, not to flip them. Years from now, your customers will still be dealing with people who know their names.
How it works
Reach out and a person gets back to you within a business day. Then a 30-minute call, or a visit if you'd rather. You tell us about your business; we tell you honestly whether we're a fit.
Before you show us anything, we sign a confidentiality agreement. Then we ask for a few years of financials and, if it makes sense, come see the store. Your staff and customers hear nothing until you decide they should.
Within about two weeks of seeing your numbers, you get a written offer with plain-English terms. Take your time. Talk to your family, talk to your accountant.
Once you say yes, most sales close in 45 to 60 days. If you need longer, we go slower. Either way, we do what we said we'd do, and we work with you on how and when to tell your team.
Every business is different, so these are typical timelines, not guarantees. What we can promise is that nothing happens without you knowing about it first.
Questions owners ask us
They keep their jobs. Your people are a big part of why we're interested in the first place. After the sale they get more support behind them, not less, and we work with you on how and when to tell them.
No. Your name and reputation are what your customers trust, and we're not in the business of throwing that away. The sign stays.
That's entirely up to you. Some owners stay and run the store for years. Some help with a handoff for a few months. Some are ready to step away at closing. We build the plan around what you want, and we agree on it before anything is signed.
We look at what the business earns, what's in the loan book and the inventory, and how strong your reputation is in town. Then we walk you through how we got to our number, in plain English.
If you see it differently, tell us. We'd much rather have that conversation early than late.
Usually a few years of financials and a conversation about how the store runs day to day. We sign a confidentiality agreement before you share anything. You don't need a broker, a presentation, or polished numbers. Real is fine.
We buy with our own committed capital and long-term partners who share our approach. We're not a broker, and we don't need to shop your business around to close. When we make an offer, we can stand behind it.
Then let's just talk. Plenty of owners reach out a year or two before they're ready. Knowing your options ahead of time makes the decision easier when it comes, and there's no obligation either way.
Family-owned pawn shops and specialty retail stores with a real reputation in their community. One location or several. If you're not sure you fit, ask. The worst case is a friendly conversation.
Get in touch
Reach out directly. Your inquiry comes straight to us and stays between us.
You'll hear back from a person within one business day, not an autoresponder. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so plainly and point you in a better direction if we can.
